Daily Diner Frogtown

Project Description

Changing lives with a side of fries. That’s the concept behind a local restaurant developed and operated by the Union Gospel Mission. UGM has found that a key stumbling block for those coming out of homelessness and addiction was the lack of relevant job skills. And without gainful employment, the cycle of homelessness just continues. This inspired UGM to create the Daily Diner, a vocational training school housed in a for-profit restaurant environment, to teach real world job skills to those in need. The program has successfully placed a number of formerly homeless individuals on the road to self sufficiency. Good food + good deeds, indeed!
